November is coming. . .

That's right. The dreaded month of November is almost here. The month which brings sleep deprivation and large amounts of caffine consumption for some. That month in which people are likely to feel more stressed in thirty days than they did the previous month. Where finger and wrist injuries are the bane of our existance, and the days just don't seem long enough.

What am I talking about? National Novel Writing Month of course!

Yep, another year of NaNoing has come. . .almost too soon. In eight days we'll be grabbing those pencils and notebook or that trusty computer and do some serious writing.

I decided on my plot just yesterday. I'm going to be working on a previous WIP that I had only written 1,000 words. I'm going to start from scratch and finish the whole thing by November 30th. The story is called "Journey to a Black Belt" and is the tale of a girl starting out in the martial arts and the difficulties and fun times she has. I think I'm going to write it in the regular format of third person, but also add some first person diary entries.

But this year brings new challenges. Being a freshman in college is hard enough. Adding to the stress of keeping my grades up and finishing my homework is writing fiction. Sounds like a good time, doesn't it? I'm sure it's going to be lots of fun, I'll just really have to work on time management.

50,000 words here I come!

I won!!!

Yes! I've won NaNo! *does a happy dance* Party time! :P

I know I haven't posted here in a long while *oops* but I wanted to update now.

I still have about 2 or 3,000 more words to write until I finish the plot, and I'm going to write some more after I get offline. Also, if I don't finish it up tonight, I'm going to write first thing tomorrow morning (yay Saturdays!) and finish it up.

This will be the first time that I get to write 'The End' at a story and I'm so excited!

Well, off to finish writing!

Good luck everyone who's still working hard!

Day Three

Well, this is day three of NaNoWriMo. Total word count as of 12:00 am is 3,586.

I haven't written a single word today, but it is only 9:57. I have to get in my 1,667 words by 12 pm because the Girl's Wednesday Night group (called Acteens) is leaving at 12:30 to go Christmas shopping for a really long time. *raises hand* I'm going too. . . We won't be getting back till around 7 or 8, I believe, so I'm going to get as much words as I can in right now.

Hard to believe that I won't get to use this whole Saturday to stay home and write. It's what I was really looking forward to doing, but oh well. For NaNo, they tell you to use your first weekend to write as much as you can in case you fall behind during week two. I don't know what I'm going to do Sunday. I literally have church all day long with an hour break in between.

I'm loving my plot so much right now. I think part of it has to do with the fact that I know where I have to go to be able to type 'The End' at 50,000 words. Outlining is my friend now. :P I didn't do a extremely detailed outline, but I did plot out the basics of what happens in each chapter. Other than that, I knew that my MC's name was Kristen, and her brother's name was Garrett. I don't even know the actual name of the Antagonist at the moment. *oops*

So that's my NaNo progress so far. Now, it's time to go write.

More about my NaNo

Since people have asked, I thought I would post more about my plot and stuff for my NaNo here.

It will start out as Contemporary Fiction, but there will be Fantasy elements mixed in almost right away. Fantasy is just my genre. I don't like to write anything else quite as much.

Here's my plot so far:

(This plot and its characters are all mine, CrimsonPhoenix's, so please do not steal. Thank you.)

Kristen wishes that her life could be more exciting. One day she discovers a strange orb. Jealous, her brother takes it from her room one day and accidentally breaks it. It releases a message about four objects separating two worlds, Earth and Tehar. He finds out that two of the objects are located in each world, and only after the ones destroyed on earth will the ones in Tehar become available. Because of Garrett’s mistake in breaking the orb in the first place, things from Tehar begin coming into Earth. Only after they destroy the objects will they be able to return everything to normal. After discovering this information, a sword-wielding man materializes near Garrett as if he’s been there the whole time, but neither has seen the other. Now Kristen and Garrett have to find these objects and destroy them before their world is overrun by the other.

So that's it. :) I'm really looking forward to writing it, and can't wait for November to get here! My outline is coming along nicely too. I've been using the 'No Outline Outline' that can be found on Clean Place. It's really good for people who bore of long, tedious outlining because it uses colorful markers. =P

I have a plot!

Yes! I'm so excited! Right as I was going to bed at midnight last night, I had a sudden idea for expanding my plot. One thing led to another, and I wrote out a whole story summary. Maybe that's why I'm tired this morning. I didn't end up going to bed until about 1 am. Oh well, at least my plot idea is worked out. :)

Now that I've written out my plot, I want to start writing it! Ugh! November can't get here soon enough! Must. . .not. . .write. . .yet.... I think I'm going to do the 'No Outline Outline' on Clean Place and finish working out the details. Whoever knew I was going to be an outliner? Not I. It can't be true! Well, maybe it is. =P

Well, I must be going. There's other blogs to visit and breakfast to eat. I know it's 10:00 am, but I've been busy. Hehe.

New Blog

Hello everyone! *waves to her CP friends*

This is where I'll be writing about my adventures during NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). This is my second year that I'm doing it, and I can't wait for November to get here!

I have a very basic plot, but when it gets closer to November, I'll expand on it. I really want to type the words 'The End' when I get to 50k, which is something I've never done after writing this many words.

So, if you're joining me on this epic feat, please leave a comment so I can cheer you on as we write together!

Until next time,

CrimsonPhoenix
